The Beautiful, The Absurd, Human Being, Creature-hood, Citizen-hood
& all-else that proves Necessary.
Through: group-connection, play, Self-exploration & confrontation;
personal, absurd-character building; facilitated ritual-technology practices; costuming and prop-construction;
soul-collage making; whatever you and others offer to facilitate; and all-else that proves Satisfying.

What is a Sacred Actor/Activist?
What is a Human Being?
What is an entity? a person? a creature? or a citizen?
For that matter, what is a Creature-Citizen or a Beauty Salon?
The answer to all of the above questions is, whatever You say they are.

Or is what is reflected in them a there that is yours alone?
Opening onto an alternative, imaginal universe?
How might The Absurd and Spirit-Proper become a purposeful speculum, lens and agent toward manifesting illumined-clarity, personal-hilarity, gravity, levity, connection and practical empowerment?
Why is BEAUTY relevant?
Here or anywhere?
What might a parlor, clubhouse or Salon, that attempts to answer these questions, actually be?
Would it be necessary to define that space?
Where is the All-Place place where fantasy and destiny converge?
The Mission
of this entire enterprise is two-fold:
The Mission at the bloody, pumping, collective-heart of this eccentric/concentric mash-up
and ridiculous endeavor, necessarily follows on two diverging, yet ultimately enmeshed, paths.
They are accessible independently or together.
The magical current or life-force we each represent and embody oscillates, like a pendulum,
back and forth between these two paths.
A dance between a certain Ascending and Descending.
Between Gravity and Levity.
Between Mysticism and Mechanism.
The Real // The Ideal.
Creature // Spirit.

Spiritus Absurdum, or 1 + 0 = Clown, is a novelty-inducing recipe that reconciles the exceedingly strange fact of our existence with supplemental and alternative-comprehension practices. Uniting our truest nature and our unfettered character. It is an access point between our work-a-day social masks (personas) and our innate character and inborn essence (soul) toward connection, life-participation and uproarious, unequivocal celebration.

This 2-Fold Mission, should you choose either or both parts of it,
is a call for heart-felt connection among playful participants through solo and group activities, on the one hand, AND the call for deliberate personal renewal through "clowning", on the other.
Through purposeful Self-acquaintance practices, group and solo ritual-theatre dynamics, and through discovering our raw, character-driven buffoon, we stumble back into our solitary riches, our precious caves of origin and invention. To our birthright to Creature and to Create. To our inimitable character, our sacred substance and our personal, bonk-talkular, archaic, cosmic giggle monsters.
Equal parts personal-development and character-clown building.
Part sincerely-serious and part super-subjectively-silly,
we excavate, develop and enhance our inner riches within
our multi-dimensional INSTRUMENT:
Body, Voice, Facial-Expression, Timing & Imagination.

Note: This work is not an invitation for anyone to become volatile or unhinged. This is not a path for blind-escapism or haphazard flights of fancy. On the contrary, moving toward becoming a non-amateur buffoon, zanni, clown, fool, absurdist, what have you, no matter how bizarre or savage the expression, actually requires your own high-watch, which combines Attention and Intention.
ALSO:
General kindness, a trusting, loving regard and respect for everyone’s private experiences and process are demanded. The sensitive and rare-area states that participants will enter, must be safe-guarded.
Therefore A Vow of Safety, in all creative states, for your own well-being and all participants, is mandatory.
